FRASER Forster is edging a step nearer to completing a move to Tottenham Hotspur, with his medical booked in for today, according to The Athletic.
Forster, 34, looks set to leave Saints this summer, with his contract coming to an end.
Following an injury to Alex McCarthy in December, Forster was given an extended run in Saints’ side this season and produced a string of fine displays, which saw him earn a recall to the England squad.
However, he has not been rewarded with a new contract at Saints and appears to have played his final game for the club.
Forster missed Saints' final two games of the season due to a back injury.
The Athletic reports the former Celtic man "said goodbye to his teammates on Thursday" ahead of his exit this summer.
Spurs are said to be seeking a new goalkeeper to provide backup to captain Hugo Lloris, ahead of the club's return to the Champions League next season.
Forster has played 162 times for Saints since joining in 2014, spending time away on loan at Celtic during that spell.
The only senior goalkeeper currently contracted to Saints for next season is McCarthy. Harry Lewis is set to join Bradford City on a free transfer, while Willy Caballero's deal is also coming to an end.
