THIERRY Small has been called up for England’s under-18s for the first time.

England’s under-18s will play Austria, Croatia and Wales in a four nations tournament hosted in Zagreb.

Small has previously represented England at both under-16 and under-17 level, as well as attending an under-19 training camp whilst still at Everton.

Still only 17, Small has been held in high regard by many as a star for the future. Everton first signed him as an 11-year-old from West Brom, before Southampton swooped to pick up the left-back last summer after he refused to sign a new deal at Goodison.

Whilst Saints did not pay an upfront transfer fee, Everton were due compensation.

Small has made one appearance for Saints since arriving, playing against Coventry City in the FA Cup.

Head coach Ryan Garry has named 23 players for the tournament, which kicks-off on Tuesday, June 7 against Austria.

They will then play Wales on Friday, June 10 before the final game against the hosts Croatia on Monday, June 13.
