DESPITE Saints releasing a relatively incomplete retained list ahead of the 2022-23 Premier League season, the official league’s list are more detailed.

The St Mary’s side only addressed the releases of Fraser Forster and Harry Lewis in their statement, revealed they had offered Willy Caballero a new deal and talks were ongoing with Shane Long.

They also finally acknowledged the fact that Alex McCarthy and Jack Stephens had since signed renewed terms – information which had long been revealed.

In total, seven players on professional deals will depart the south-coast club at the end of this month.
