EASTLEIGH have kicked-off their transfer business this summer with two defensive reinforcements.

Brennan Camp, who finished last season on loan at the Silverlake from AFC Bournemouth, returns to the National League outfit, whilst right-back George Langston arrives from Watford.

Langston followed in the footsteps of his father Matthew, who also came through the youth ranks at Watford to sign a professional deal, back in 1998.

Similarly to his son, Matthew dropped down into non-league, most famously scoring the winning goal as Histon shocked Leeds United in the FA Cup Second Round in 2008.

Whilst with Watford, George Langston regularly captained the under-23 side. Langston arrives with National League experience, thanks to a loan spell with Wealdstone in the 2020-21 season.

Making the move in order to experience senior football, 19-year-old Langston told Eastleigh’s website: “I was keen to do it last season as well but a couple of injuries probably stopped me from doing that, but I’m really looking forward to kicking on now and hopefully getting a chance to try and get this team in the play-offs and maybe even get them promoted.

“I feel like I’m a leader. I’m quite young, I know, but I feel like that’s just me and my personality.

“I can be quite loud, but also I’m just a defender that just puts his body on the line and is quite passionate.

“I’ve also got the technical ability to try and play as well, so hopefully one that’s a positive influence on the team.”
