WEST Ham United are ready to test Chelsea's resolve by bidding £30million for Armando Broja, according to Sky Sports.

Striker Broja spent last season on loan at Saints, showing his potential with nine goals in 38 appearances.

Only James Ward-Prowse (11) scored more for the club in the 2021-22 campaign.

Broja's final goal for Saints came against West Ham, in the FA Cup in March.

Saints are thought to be keen to bring the 20-year-old back to St Mary's for another season, if a deal can be struck with Chelsea.

But Sky Sports claim Broja is now West Ham's "top striker target" this summer, as they prepare to make a £30million offer.

The situation could be complicated by the news chairman Bruce Buck is stepping down at Chelsea, with director Marina Granovskaia's future also uncertain, following the recent departure of long-serving Roman Abramovich.

Discussing Broja's future in April, Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “At this moment it is not easy to negotiate with Chelsea. There is no question, and it is not surprising that I want him to stay here another year.

"I know this would be good for him.”

Multiple clubs have been linked with a summer move for Broja, including Serie A outfit Napoli.

Blues boss Thomas Tuchel confirmed Broja is set to join up with his parent club for pre-season.
