SAINTS defender Laura Rafferty scored an unfortunate own goal as Northern Ireland Women were beaten 4-1 by Belgium in their final Euro 2022 warm-up fixture.

Kenny Shiels's side were level with Ives Serneels's Red Flames at 1-1, thanks to Lauren Wade's stunning strike just before half-time.

However, Northern Ireland's hopes were hampered when goalkeeper Jacqueline Burns was sent off for a professional foul.

Northern Ireland's resistance was finally broken in the 82nd minute when Ella van Kerkhoven headed in, before Tessa Wullaert grabbed her second of the night.

The evening was rounded off when Rafferty, who had come on as a half-time substitute, and had been booked minutes earlier, turned into her own net.

The ball struck the 26-year-old on the rebound from a save by sub keeper Becky Flaherty.

Northern Ireland begin their Euro 2022 campaign against Norway at St Mary's on Thursday, July 7.
