WATFORD are set to face Saints as part of their pre-season schedule next month, the Championship club have confirmed.

The Hornets suffered relegation from the Premier League and are now under new management, with former Forest Green Rovers boss Rob Edwards at the helm.

And they have confirmed they are set to play host to Saints on Saturday, July 23 (3pm).

However, the game will not take place at Vicarage Road, due to pitch care priorities after infrastructure relating to the Sir Elton John concerts at the venue has been removed from the stadium.

Instead, the game against Saints will take place at non-league Wealdstone FC's ground, Grosvenor Vale.

It marks the start of a new agreement between Wealdstone and Watford, whereby the Hornets Women will play their matches at the venue this season.

Supporters will be permitted to attend, with ticket details to follow in due course.

Ralph Hasenhuttl's men won 1-0 at Vicarage Road last season, thanks to a Che Adams goal. However, Mohamed Elyounoussi's strike could not prevent a 2-1 home defeat when the pair last met, in March.

Saints are also set to face Klagenfurt (July 18) during their pre-season training camp in Austria, before welcoming Villarreal to St Mary's Stadium on July 30.
