SAINTS Women talent Lucia Kendall has been called up to represent England at the upcoming Under-19s European Championship.

The tournament begins on Monday in Czech Republic, when Gemma Davies's side will face Norway in Karvina (4.30pm).

The Young Lionesses then face Sweden on Thursday in Frydek-Mistek, before rounding off their group campaign against Germany on Sunday, July 3, back at Mestsky Stadium in Karvina.

The eight-team tournament also features Italy, Spain, France and hosts Czech Republic.

England reached the finals courtesy of three wins from three in the qualifying round, without conceding, against Wales, Iceland and Belgium.

“The spotlight is on our game this summer with the senior Euros in England and our players have the perfect platform to show what they can do before it all begins," said boss Davies.

"It's a great opportunity for them to experience tournament football and learn more about what goes into representing your country. While we are looking to perform in every match, it's an important step for them to develop as individuals on and off the pitch as they work their way through the pathway.”

Kendall, 18, helped Saints clinch promotion to the Championship this season.
