SAINTS defender Lyanco is “likely” to make a loan move to Turkish outfit Goztepe, according to reports.

Turkish media outlet Yeni Asir have reported the Brazilian defender could be set to make a loan switch to the TFF First League side.

They claim the transfer “will be clarified in the next week”.

The link comes amid reports that Saints’ owners Sport Republic are in talks to buy Turkish side Goztepe and French team Valenciennes, according to The Athletic.

Lyanco signed for Saints from Torino for £6.5million last August and made 18 appearances in all competitions for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side during the 2021-22 campaign.

He was hindered by a hamstring problem, but still went on to make nine league starts – including on the final day of last season against Leicester City.

The 25-year-old signed a four-year deal with Saints, meaning he is under contract at St Mary’s until 2025.

Yeni Asir also claim new Saints stopper Mateusz Lis is also “very close” to joining the Turkish outfit.
