SAINTS are one of a number of Premier League clubs reported to have shown an interest in Swansea City’s Flynn Downes.

WalesOnline claim the St Mary’s side, Wolves and Crystal Palace have all made “tentative enquiries” about the 23-year-old.

Downes joined the Swans from Ipswich for £1.5million in August 2021 and made 39 appearances in all competitions.

The Times linked Downes with a move to Leeds last season.

Responding to that speculation back in April, Swansea boss Russell Martin said: “I wouldn't have thought they're (Leeds) the only team looking at him.

“As far as we're concerned, Flynn's just bought a house in Swansea, he loves it, his partner loves it. He's loving what we're doing on the pitch. He has a great relationship with all of the coaching staff and players.

“He's really well respected and I think the fans really like him. I think that counts a lot for someone like Flynn, after the tough time he had last year, I don't think it's just about jumping at any opportunity.”

Downes helped Swansea finish 15th in the Championship during the 2021-22 season.
