SAINTS’ second home clash of the season has been brought forward following the first round of fixtures selected for live television coverage.

Ralph Hasenhuttl’s men will host Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United on the same date of Saturday, August 27, but rather than a traditional 3pm kick-off, the game will now take place at 12.30pm, whilst being shown live on BT Sport.

In total, three of Saints’ fixtures in August and September have been chosen to be shown on BT Sport and Sky Sports, including the game immediately following the clash with Manchester United.

Chelsea’s visit to St Mary’s has also been selected by BT Sport, however the date and time remains unaffected, with the game not moving from its originally slated 7.45pm kick-off on Tuesday, August 30.

Saints’ trip to Aston Villa midway through September has been brought forward by a day, with fans now having to travel to the Midlands on Friday, September 16, with kick-off at 8pm.

This is due to the game being selected for Sky Sports coverage, but it will not be the only fixture played at the time, with Nottingham Forest’s clash with Fulham being hosted at the same time despite it not being aired.

As of writing, the specific channels the games will be shown on have yet to be confirmed.
