NATHAN Tella is up in Burnley finalising a season-long loan move to the Championship outfit, the Daily Echo understands.
The 23-year-old signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal at Saints back in January and will have this campaign as opportunity to find regular minutes.
Tella, who joined Saints’ academy in 2017, will link up with former Manchester City captain and new Clarets boss Vincent Kompany in the second division.
The attacker made 14 Premier League appearances last season, disrupted by injury, and is yet to add to his one goal at top-flight level.
Tella had been ruled out of the closing stages of 2022-23 pre-season and the opening day of the Premier League campaign through injury again.
Burnley are looking to make an instant return to the Premier League following relegation in May, and Tella could become their 11th addition of a busy summer.
It is not expected to take long to finalise the move, with the club hopeful it will be finished this afternoon.
