Gregory Vignal stepped up and dispatched Saints' equalising penalty like a man full of confidence - but later revealed had only taken his previous spot kick he because he was told to.
After a couple of recent misses from the penalty spot it was simply a case of who fancied it most for Saints rather than an pre-designated taker when they were awarded a penalty late on at Scunthorpe.
It was Vignal, arm still in a cast after his recent break, who grabbed the ball and duly dispatched it into the bottom corner to earn his side a point.
But it's a far cry from the last penalty he took when he was playing for Rangers.
He said: "The last penalty I took was for Glasgow Rangers in the UEFA Cup.
"I didn't want to take it but I did and I scored and we went through.
"But this time I saw it and thought I would take my chance.
"I just went for the ball and took the ball and thought I would give it a try."
