RALPH Hasenhuttl confirmed Saints battled two bouts of sickness during the week, with Ibrahima Diallo and Moi Elyounoussi missing training.

The pair have been back on grass as of Thursday and could be available for selection, ahead of Brentford’s visit in the Premier League on Saturday.

However, it is a positive update elsewhere with only the two current injury absentees set to miss out, with everyone else fit.

Romeo Lavia (muscle) is due back in October while Tino Livramento (knee) could return after the World Cup.

"Not so far (new injuries),” Hasenhuttl said, when asked if he had any bad news on the squad availability ahead of Brentford.

“We had some illnesses during the week with Ibrahima and Moi,” he admitted. “But we're back on track. The group is completed with only Romeo Lavia and Tino injured."

Saints welcome Brentford to St Mary’s in matchday seven of the Premier League season, and could be buoyed by first starts for new signings.

Samuel Edozie and Ainsley Maitland-Niles were both used as substitutes at Wolves but could step in if the ill duo’s fitness is not up to scratch.

Meanwhile, Duje Caleta-Car could make his first appearance for the club after missing last weekend’s defeat due to registration rules.
