SAINTS directors have not been officially told they have until Monday to resign - or face an EGM call to remove them.

Reports claim that former chairmen Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde are ready to call an EGM in three days time unless the current board resign.

The Saints PLC board comprising of Leon Crouch, Lee Hoos, Patrick Trant, Keith Wiseman and David Jones met yesterday for their montly get-together.

It is not believed they are ready to tend their resignations before Monday.

It is claimed that Lowe and Wilde would only want Jones to stay of the current PLC board.

A high-level Saints source told the Echo today: "The ball is in Rupert's court.

"We haven't heard anything this week but we're told he is on holiday.

"I would guess we will hear early next week.

"Rupert Lowe and Michael Wilde would be an alliance of failures - the only thing that could make a real difference to the club is something coming in and buying the whole club, turning it private, and making money available to strengthen the team.

"The team can only be made better with money being made available to the manager.

"The only thing you could say is that Lowe and Wilde are the two men who have done the most damage to the club in recent years, so it's only right they should try and mend that damage!"
