EASTLEIGH FC’s Walking Football over-65 side retained the sport’s national cup, winning through the group stages before successful penalty shootouts in the semi-final and final.
Winning two out of three qualifiers 1-0 and a 0-0 draw in the third saw a semi-final against Hemel Hempstead.
After another 0-0, Eastleigh triumphed 3-2 on penalties.
Being a 6-a-side format, teams took three penalties each.
After a goalless final against Stamford, Eastleigh were penalty kings once again, with a 2-1 winning margin.
Keeper David Davies added to his penalty save in the semi-final with two more in the final, as Geoff Harrison and John Dymott found the net for Eastleigh.
Eastleigh’s over-70 squad also qualified for finals day.
In a field of 22 teams they reached the semi-final, only to lose 1-0 to eventual winners Norwich.
