A HOST of academy players have joined up with Saints’ first team for a warm weather training camp in Spain.

The 27-man squad headed away to the southern coast of Andalucia today, where they will stay for a week as preparations ramp up ahead of a return to competitive action.

Nathan Jones will take charge of his first home match as Saints boss against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup on December 21.

And he will use this opportunity in Spain to cast an eye over some of the club’s exciting youngsters, as well as the majority of the senior squad.

All members of Saints’ first-team squad have travelled, apart from Armel Bella-Kotchap and Mohammed Salisu, who have been given extra time off following their exploits at the World Cup.

Tino Livramento has made the trip as he continues his recovery from a serious knee injury.

Added to the list are defenders Nico Lawrence, Lewis Payne and Thierry Small, midfielder Ryan Finnigan and in-form striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan.

Saints training camp squad list: Bazunu, Caballero, McCarthy, Caleta-Car, Larios, Lawrence, Livramento, Lyanco, Payne, Perraud, Small, Walker-Peters, Diallo, Finnigan, Lavia, Maitland-Niles, Ward-Prowse, Aribo, S Armstrong, Djenepo, Edozie, Elyounoussi, Walcott, Adams, A Armstrong, Mara, Morgan.
