ARMEL Bella-Kotchap has taken to social media to reflect on the “great disappointment” of Germany’s early exit from the World Cup.

The 20-year-old’s fine form for Saints this season saw him make a late run to be part of Germany’s 26-man squad for the tournament in Qatar.

But the centre-back did not feature for Die Mannschaft, remaining an unused substitute for all three Group E matches.

Germany finished on four points, having recovered from defeat to Japan to draw with Spain and then defeat Costa Rica 4-2 in the final round of games.

However, that win proved to be in vain as Hansi Flick’s men exited the competition before the knockout stage.

Three days after elimination, Bella-Kotchap posted on Instagram: “I also needed time to find words to describe how I feel about the current situation.

“It is a great disappointment for all of us, but we must look to the future and stick together as one.

“I am grateful to have been a part of this unit.

“Thank you for every experience of my first World Cup and thank you very much to all who have accompanied and supported me so far.

“The pain that you've been feeling, can't compare to the joy that's coming, (Romans 8:18).”
