SAINTS manager Nathan Jones admitted he was “really pleased” with the club’s owners after conversations over the last week.

The Welshman had come under massive pressure just two months into his role following four Premier League defeats in his first four league games.

Although Saints remain bottom of the table, the dynamic has completely flipped after three back-to-back wins versus Crystal Palace, Manchester City and Everton.

The former two of those came in the FA Cup and EFL Cup, so Saints will continue to fight on three fronts as they look to stave off a drop to the Championship.

And following passionate celebrations with his players and supporters, in front of all three members of Sport Republic, at Goodison Park on Saturday, Jones spoke of the experience.

“It was nice considering where we were 10 days ago. Very nice,” the boss said. “But that’s my natural response.

“Anyone who knows me and knows the rapport I have with my fans and how I build and how I go about it. I wear my heart on my sleeve and I’m very passionate about what I do but I'm also very driven.”

Jones added: “I've had to batten down the hatches this week from some criticism, some fair and some ridiculous. I'm really pleased with how we've reacted as a football club this weekend and that's everyone from the owners and everyone.”

Speaking about chats he has had with Rasmus Ankersen, Henrik Kraft and Dragan Solak, who purchased the club to be the jewel in the multi-club crown over a year ago, Jones continued: “I've had conversations this week.

“Conversations about what we want to be and where we want to go. They've had to take some because they've been criticised for bringing someone as low-key on as myself.”
