WEST Ham have bid between £12-15 million for Aston Villa striker and Saints target Danny Ings, it has been widely reported.

Saints are understood to have met with and spoken to their former star, Ings, with a view to a move this window, as Nathan Jones looks for attacking reinforcements.

The St Mary’s side have also been linked with the likes of FC Lorient striker Terem Moffi, which now seems unlikely, and Villarreal winger Nicolas Jackson – which is edging closer to an agreement.

Ings, 30, scored 46 goals in 100 games for Southampton before an out-of-the-blue move to Villa Park for around £30million during the 2021 summer transfer window.

It is reported West Ham, managed by David Moyes, have paid between £12-15million for the permanent signing of Ings, who had entered the final 18 months of his Villa deal.

Ings has netted six goals in just 818 Premier League minutes this campaign and is Villa’s top goalscorer, but new manager Unai Emery has been happy to sanction his exit for funds.

The former England international is said to be completing his medical today ahead of confirmation of the move to London Stadium.

Ings could have been back at St Mary's for the first time since his exit this weekend when Aston Villa visit in the Premier League on Saturday (3PM).

Saints have already completed two deals this window, with Mislav Orsic, 30, and Charly Alcaraz, 20, joining Jones’s squad. They are likely to add more over the next 12 days.
