Join Daily Echo Saints reporter Benjy Nurick as he sits down at St Mary's to discuss Southampton's FA Cup fourth round victory against Blackpool.

It certainly wasn't convincing and it certainly wasn't easy. But Saints are into the hat for the fifth round of this season's FA Cup.

Up against Championship opposition, Nathan Jones made eight changes from the team that lost 1-0 to Newcastle in the midweek and the alterations understandably appeared to lead to sluggishness as Saints toiled in the early stages.

Thankfully, left-back Romain Perraud was on hand to give Saints the lead in the 22nd minute with a free-kick from just outside the box before the Frenchman doubled the advantage moments past the hour-mark with a well-taken finish after a neat exchange of passes with Sekou Mara.

But just when it seemed that Saints would cruise through, Charlie Patino and Blackpool broke down the other end and fired past Willy Caballero to give the visitors a lifeline.

And despite a late barrage of Blackpool pressure, Saints held out to scrape past Mick McCarthy's side and enter the draw for the fifth round.

Saints will find out their next opponent on Monday evening.

What did Saints do well? What went wrong? Did anyone show that they deserve more minutes? All that and more is discussed in the video below. You can watch in the player below.
