SAINTS target Kamaldeen Sulemana has reportedly chosen to join the St Mary’s side over Premier League rivals Everton.

Nathan Jones’s side are in the market for another forward and he has made clear that he is looking for pace and power ahead of the 11PM deadline.

Sulemana is a full Ghanaian international and teammate of Saints defender Mohammed Salisu, with 15 caps to his name and two World Cup appearances.

The 20-year-old winger is yet to score for his country and has registered one goal and two assists across 17 Ligue 1 and Europa League matches this season.

The Daily Echo understands Saints have been in talks with French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes with a view to a permanent deal worth up to £25million.

Everton were looking to rival Saints for the youngster after they sold academy graduate Anthony Gordon to Newcastle United for £45million.

However, French publication L’Equipe now report that Sulemana has chosen to sign for Saints over the Goodison Park outfit, while The Athletic detail talks have reached success with his club.

Sulemana could undertake medical tests in England or France ahead of the deadline, with the Saints medical team primed at Staplewood Campus for the duration of the day.
