MANAGER Nathan Jones admitted Saints are still waiting on outside interventions before they can give debuts to deadline day signings Paul Onuachu and Kamaldeen Sulemana.

The attacking duo were confirmed as new Saints players over an hour after Tuesday’s deadline had expired and had joined the group at Staplewood Campus for the first time today.

Sport Republic are thought to have outlaid over £40million for the two, with Sulemana a club-record fee, and will want instant results from boss Jones.

Saints travel to Brentford on Saturday, February 4, in a must-not-lose Premier League clash – already bottom of the division and two points behind those in safety.

But asked if the pair are ready to come in and play, Jones admitted: “We aren’t sure yet as it’s all about work permits and stuff like that, so I can’t say too much just yet.

“Hopefully in the not-too-distant future we’ll see them," he added, speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the game.

"They’re in the building but we’re limited with what we can do with them because of the work permit situation.

“You’re better off ringing the Home Office to find out. We can keep on asking but until we get clarification on their work permits, neither will be involved."
