SAINTS manager Nathan Jones has moved to become the new odds-on favourite to be the next Premier League boss to leave their role.

Jones was as high as 15/1 on betting sites ahead of Saturday’s defeat to Brentford, which saw his side go 3-0 down at the Community Stadium.

The result matched that which started Ralph Hasenhuttl’s eventual downfall last May, with the Austrian lasting until November that year before being replaced by Jones.

Jones, on Betfair, has now moved to 2/9, with Leeds’ Jesse Marsch follows behind at 10/3, with Gary O’Neil 12/1 and Graham Potter 16/1

The Welshman has lost six of his seven Premier League matches as manager, scoring from open play just once in that time and not taking the lead first in any game.

The Daily Echo understands there is serious consideration over Jones’s future, with suggestions of meetings both yesterday and this morning at Staplewood Campus.

Jones has lost virtually all support with fans after comments made following Saturday’s defeat in the capital.

He suggested he has compromised in his methods since being appointed as Hasenhuttl’s successor, due to “certain players, internationals, fans and so on.”

However, Jones is at Staplewood Campus today continuing his role as usual, with no sign of an imminent change.
