THE FA have released figures detailing how much Premier League clubs have spent on agents and intermediaries in the last year.

Each season, the FA publish a report detailing the payments and transactions involving registered intermediaries in accordance with FIFA regulations.

Saints spent the fifth-fewest of all Premier League clubs with over £6.3million paid to intermediaries between February 1, 2022, and January 31, 2023.

Transactions listed do not necessarily relate directly to the total payment figure per club as payments may have been made in relation to transactions that started before February 2022.

Saints signed as many as 15 players across the summer and winter transfer windows included in the report, as well as giving new contracts to the likes of Moussa Djenepo.

Manchester City were the biggest spenders on agents at more than £51.5million, with Chelsea second at over £43million. Liverpool (£33.7million), Manchester United (£24.7million) and league leaders Arsenal (£16.7m) complete the rest of the top five, with Tottenham Hotspur (£16.1million) closely behind in sixth.

Nottingham Forest find themselves bottom of the list for total payments made to intermediaries, while only AFC Bournemouth, Brentford and Wolves also paid less than Saints.
