HAMPSHIRE Cricket all-rounder James Fuller has signed a new contract with the club and will remain at The Ageas Bowl until at least the end of 2024.

Fuller, who joined Hampshire from Middlesex in 2019, has been rewarded off the back of a spectacular 2022 season in the County Championship and Vitality Blast.

His ability with both bat and ball has seen him become a regular across all formats and he has made 93 total appearances for the club.

On signing his deal, Fuller said: “I’m really happy – I love playing my cricket at The Ageas Bowl.

“Last season was unbelievable for us as a team and for me personally, and I’m delighted that I was able to contribute to our success. We all really want to build on that and the aim is that we can add more silverware in 2023.”

Giles White, Hampshire director of cricket, added: “James adds X factor and balance to our line-up and it was fantastic to see him deliver across the formats last summer.

“He bowls with pace and has the ability to clear the ropes with the bat; he’s a great player to have in the team.”

Fuller made his biggest impact yet in 2022, since arriving at The Ageas Bowl. In the County Championship, his 28 wickets and 505 runs were crucial for Hampshire as they recorded a third-place finish in the County Championship, their best finish since 2008.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old also contributed heavily to Hampshire Hawks’ successful Vitality Blast campaign, playing in all 17 matches. His 23 wickets saw him top the Hawks’ wicket-taking standings and he also scored 290 runs, at an impressive average of 32.22.

As a result of his impressive season, Fuller was picked as a wildcard for The Hundred by Southern Brave and received the prestigious Players' Player of the Year award at the club’s end-of-season awards.
