CHESTERFIELD scored two late goals to seal a comeback win over Eastleigh to keep hold of third place in the Vanarama National League.

Lee Bradury’s side were ahead with just a few minutes to play in their quest to secure playoff qualification for the first time since 2019.

With Wrexham and Notts County running away at the top of the table, a dramatic 3-2 victory kept Chesterfield as the best of the rest.

Playoff hopefuls Eastleigh had led by two goals at the interval as Kairo Mitchell and Charlie Carter had the visitors on course for a fine win.

However, the Spireites rallied after the break as Ryan Colclough pulled one back before completing a brace in the last minute and Andrew Dallas hit a last-gasp winner.

The result sees the Spitfires drop out of the top seven with Bromley still boasting a game in hand after leapfrogging the Silverlake side.

Eastleigh are without a win in five – after Aldershot had also scored a last-minute equaliser in an Easter Monday fixture just days prior.

Bradbury’s charges must now face Solihull Moors and Halifax in their final two fixtures of the National League campaign.

Bromley are only one point ahead but every other team competing for the playoffs currently in the top 10 also has at least one game in hand.
