SAINTS have reportedly shortlisted two EFL managers in Russell Martin and Steven Schumacher as they hunt a new boss this summer.
The St Mary’s side is currently managed by Ruben Selles, who wants to remain with the club next season, but are facing relegation into the Championship.
Sport Republic’s Rasmus Ankersen and Henrik Kraft have been chief decision-makers over the course of this season but incoming director of football Jason Wilcox will be given significant authority.
talkSPORT is reporting that current Swansea City boss Martin and Plymouth Argyle manager Schumacher are on a shortlist that likely includes other names.
Welsh outfit Swansea finished 10th in the Championship under Martin, 37, this season – the Englishman would be another commitment to a young and upcoming boss. Martin managed MK Dons between 2019-2021.
Schumacher, meanwhile, is a 39 year old former midfielder who has led Plymouth to the Championship with a 101-point title-winning season in League One.
It is a return to the Championship for the first time since 2010 for the Pilgrims, who have been managed by their former assistant Schumacher for two years.
