EASTLEIGH announced the double-signing of both defender Lee Hodson and midfielder Solomon Nwabuokei, subject to international clearance.

Defender Hodson departed Kilmarnock this summer but started his youth career at Boreham Wood before moving to Watford, where he broke into the first team.

The 31-year-old made 83 senior appearances for the Hornets and scored once in his nine-year spell with the Hertfordshire side.

Former Northern Ireland international Hodson played for MK Dons, Rangers and Gillingham before joining Kilmarnock in 2019, with loan spells at Brentford, St Mirren, Hamilton Academical and Partick Thistle throughout his career.

The defender represented Northern Ireland at Under 19 and 21 level before making his full international debut against Morocco in November 2010. Hodson would go on and represent his country 24 times, in total.

Eastleigh also announced the signing of midfielder Nwabuokei following his departure from League Two outfit Barrow.

The 27-year-old rose through the ranks of non-league football with Enfield Borough, Biggleswade and St Alban before making a move to the National League with Woking, in 2021.

Nwabuokei made 42 appearances for the Surrey side, starting all but one of the games that he featured in.

A year later, in 2022, he completed a move to Barrow where he made his debut for the club in an EFL Cup second-round tie against Lincoln City. Halfway through last season, the midfielder was loaned back to Woking for the remainder of the campaign.

Popular defender Christian Maghoma also announced his departure from the Hampshire club following the expiry of his contract this week.
