WEST Ham are reportedly expected to launch a £20 million bid for James Ward-Prowse, despite that falling short of Saints valuation of their captain.
The Europa Conference League winners are currently shopping for central midfielders as they prepare for life without Declan Rice, who is reportedly set to join Premier League runners up Arsenal in a deal worth £105 million.
The 11 time England international is one of the many players expected to depart from St Mary’s this summer, with Saints valuing him at £40 million.

Despite West Ham not being short of money to spend on a replacement for Rice, The Daily Mirror are reporting that they only prepared to offer Southampton half of their valuation for Ward-Prowse.
The report also notes that the St Mary’s side have received enquires from around 10 clubs for the 28 year old, but his age is a stumbling block for top Premier League clubs.
Russell Martin’s side have already lined up a midfield replacement and are close to finalising a deal to sign Shea Charles from Manchester City.
The 19 year old Northern Ireland international will reportedly travel to the South Coast for a medical this week before finalising his move to the Championship.
