MIDFIELDER Ibrahima Diallo is nearing an exit as Saints conclude a deal with Qatari side Al Duhail, the Daily Echo understands.

The 24 year old has one year remaining on his contract at St Mary’s but he is not considered part of manager Russell Martin’s plans.

Former France under-21 international Diallo has spent three years on the south coast following a move from Stade Brest, making 81 appearances for Saints.

He featured 18 times in the Premier League last season - his fewest since the former AS Monaco prospect arrived in England.

A deal to take Diallo to Al Duhail is nearly finalised with only paperwork to get done to conclude the move.

Diallo becomes the second Saints player to leave on a transfer this summer behind Mislav Orsic, who signed at Turkish side Trabzonspor, while all three of Willy Caballero, Theo Walcott and Moi Elyounoussi also departed on expiry of their contracts.
