SAINTS under-21 head coach Dave Horseman is set to become the new manager of Forest Green Rovers, the Daily Echo understands.
Horseman has led the top group of Southampton’s academy since an August 19 move from Bristol City.
Horseman’s Saints B - now officially known as under-21s - won the Premier League 2 Division Two title last season.
Horseman and assistant Louis Carey worked with former manager Ruben Selles as assistants to the first team between February and the end of the last Premier League season.
As first reported by the Daily Mail, Horseman is set to be confirmed as the new Forest Green Rovers boss.
Hannah Dingley became the first woman to lead a club in England’s top four divisions when she was made interim last month; but Horseman is now set to replace her.
Horseman is a well-liked member of the Saints staff and will be missed by players and staff alike.
Bristol City legend Louis Carey, an assistant to Horseman at Saints, is also set to follow his boss to his new club.
Assistant Lee Skyrme and player-coach Olly Lancashire would initially take over Horseman’s role when the move is confirmed.
