SAINTS have announced first professional contracts for Brandon Charles and Josh Lett, keeping them at the club until 2025.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder, Charles, started his youth career at Brentford before joining Queens Park Rangers at 10 years old; after six years at QPR he made the move to the South Coast in 2022 on a scholarship deal.

Charles endured a difficult season as he suffered a serious injury after a positive start to the campaign, but he has now signed professional terms with a return to full fitness on the horizon.

The youngster spoke highly of his time at Saints so far, as the club has backed his abilities with a new contract offer.

"Every boy dreams of making it pro so I'm very happy,” Charles said.

“Obviously, I started last season well but unfortunately picked up an injury and it's been a rollercoaster ever since, so it's nice that the club has faith in me."

The 18-year-old full-back, Lett, has been at the club for six years, since joining in 2017, and featured heavily for the under-18s last season.

He also broke into the B team with a run of games in the Premier League Cup and will be looking to contribute again to the squad after signing professional terms.

After signing his first professional contract, Lett reflected on his journey to reach the professional game.

"It's been a dream of mine since I was a young boy and I'm so thankful that I've been given the opportunity by this club,” Lett said.

"Being here for how long I have, I've really enjoyed the journey and I'm proud that they've given me this chance to start my career."
