LEE Bradbury is hoping that Eastleigh can continue to develop players and help them earn moves to the Football League.

The Silverlake Stadium has been a breeding ground for players to earn moves to the EFL in recent seasons.

Just this summer former fan favourite Vincent Harper joined League One outfit Exeter City, while loanee JJ McKiernan has joined Morecambe of League Two.

The duo have followed in the footsteps of Ben House, who joined Lincoln City midway through the 2021-22 season.

Speaking to the Daily Echo, Bradbury revealed that he hopes the club’s recent track record can help attract more players looking to launch their senior careers by playing in the National League.

He said: “Vinnie deserves his opportunity to go on and play EFL football.

"As a club and as a manager I want this place to be a stepping stone for players to know that they can come here and we will help them and that we won’t stand in their way.

“We did that again with JJ, although he was only on loan, he came on as a player and now he has gone on to league football as well.

“If players, young or old, see a pathway to play and to improve and then move on that’s an attraction for them.

“I’ve had agents tell me that they want to place their players at Eastleigh because we have moved a few on last season and they are interested in that.

“As a club that can only be a positive thing for us to attract the young players who are up-and-coming."

The Spitfires get their 2023-24 National League season underway with an away trip to Solihull Moors on Saturday, August 5.
