NEWCASTLE United winger Ryan Fraser is set to join Saints on loan, the Daily Echo understands.

The former AFC Bournemouth man boasts over 150 matches of Premier League and Championship experience.

Fraser, 29, is set to bolster manager Russell Martin’s options for the rest of the season – with no purchase clause inserted in the deal.

Fraser made eight Premier League appearances last campaign but has reportedly been training away from Eddie Howe’s senior squad this term.

The deal for Fraser is likely to be completed today, along with Everton defender Mason Holgate – also coming in on loan.

It is not confirmed if either loanee will be available for tomorrow’s match versus QPR but Fraser is more likely due to confirmation cut-off times.

Fraser, who can operate on both wings, has scored 18 goals in 173 Premier League appearances across his career.
