LEICESTER City might be without as many three players for their visit to Saints this week but defender Conor Coady could make a return.

The England international is yet to feature competitively for Enzo Maresca’s side after picking up an injury during pre-season.

Former Wolves and Everton man Coady, 30, spent the next few weeks in a protective boot but was set for a return to training this week and made schedule.

Friday night could come too early for Coady, though, who is set to feature in the Championship for the first time since winning the competition with Wolves in 2018.

Leicester will be without 15-cap Belgian international Dennis Praet, who played in the first two matches of the league season.

Midfielder Praet has sustained a back injury and will be out for at least three months, Maresca confirmed ahead of the Foxes’ last outing against Hull.

Goalkeeper Alex Smithies also remains injured but the backup has not made an appearance for the club since signing last summer anyway.
