SAINTS defender Jan Bednarek was substituted early due to a potential injury during Poland’s 2-0 defeat to Albania.
The international centre-back was one of his country’s top performers in victory over the Faroe Islands last time out.
However, his appearance on Sunday versus Albania in European Championship qualifying lasted just 34 minutes before a forced withdrawal.
Bednarek was drawing praise for his performance before being forced off with the scores level at 0-0.

The 27 year old has started every match of the Championship season for Saints manager Russell Martin with Leicester City visiting St Mary’s on Friday, September 15.
No further information has been released regarding the status of Bednarek following the concern but he could be sidelined if fears are confirmed.

An update on Bednarek’s condition is expected later in the week with Martin facing the media ahead of the Leicester clash.
A deadline day signing from Manchester City, England youth captain Taylor Harwood-Bellis could make his Saints debut.
Everton loanee Mason Holgate struggled on his debut in the 5-0 loss at Sunderland but could also keep his place, while Shea Charles, 19, is another option.
