EASTLEIGH have confirmed that Charlie Carter has joined fellow Vanarama National League side Dorking Wanderers on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

Carter scored the decisive goal in the Spitfires 1-0 win over Dover Athletic on Saturday, which saw them reach the first round of the FA Cup.

The 26 year old joined Eastleigh from Stevenage in the summer of 2022, and played a crucial role in Lee Bradbury's side during his first season.

The midfielder scored 10 goals and provided six assists during the 2022-23 National League campaign as Eastleigh narrowly missed out on the play offs.

A statement on Eastleigh's website added: "Carter has made the decision to pursue the opportunity to join Dorking Wanderers after a bid was put in for him from the Surrey side.

"We would like to place on record our thanks to Charlie and wish him all the best for the future."

Speaking upon his arrival at Dorking, Carter said: "I'm very excited to join Dorking Wanderers.

"Looking in from the outside, it's a club with a lot of ambition and after speaking to Marc about the plans for the future, it felt like a good time to join and be part of the project.

"I look forward to meeting the fans and I'm sure we will have some good times together."
