EASTLEIGH'S possible FA Cup fourth-round tie with Manchester United will be shown live on BBC One, if they are to overcome Newport County.

The Spitfires drew 1-1 with the League Two side despite going a goal behind and having to play over an hour with 10 men - with Chris Maguire scoring a late equaliser.

They will meet Newport County again on Tuesday, January 16 to determine who will host the Red Devils in the next stage of the competition.

A potential meeting with Erik ten Hag's United will take place at 4:30 PM on Sunday, January 28 at the Silverlake Stadium.

A £110,000 broadcast fee will be paid to each participating club due to being selected for TV coverage.

It would be the second time Richard Hill's side are shown on terrestrial TV this season after their 2-1 win over Reading in round two was shown on ITV.

Manchester United secured their place in the fourth round with a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic thanks to goals from Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes.

Eastleigh released a club statement after the draw was announced to address concerns the game will not be able to take place at the Silverlake stadium.

It said: "We are exploring the possibility of extending our temporary seating to increase capacity to enable more fans to attend should we be successful.

"We appreciate how potentially exciting this fixture is for our fans and the wider community but we are not able to provide any further information at this stage for what is only a potential fixture."
