WITH just two weeks left of the January transfer window, rumours and links will go into overdrive.

Saints have already confirmed their first signing with the addition of AFC Bournemouth loanee, midfielder Joe Rothwell.

Manager Russell Martin has already admitted he would also like to sign a 'Nathan Tella replacement' this month.

Here are the latest rumours regarding Saints...

Second bid for Manuel Benson

Burnley winger Manuel Benson is one player on the transfer shortlist for Saints this month, the Daily Echo has confirmed.

The club reportedly had an approach knocked back by the Lancashire outfit towards the start of the window.

Saints have since been linked with the likes of David Brooks and Fabio Carvalho - who has signed for Championship rivals Hull City.

However, they are reported to have now returned with a second loan to buy bid for the 26 year old Belgian.

Benson recorded 12 goals and three assists in the Championship last season for Vincent Kompany's title-winning side.

Che Adams price tag has been set

Saints have reportedly set the price tag for out-of-contract striker Che Adams at £6million.

The 27 year old's Saints deal expires in the summer, meaning he could walk away on a free transfer at the end of the season.

Adams has netted seven Championship goals this campaign, including four in his last seven appearances.

However, talkSPORT report that Saints have set the valuation at £6million, should a Premier League side be tempted into an offer.

Martin admitted he would like to keep Adams at the club but accepted an offer could be too good to refuse given his contract status.

Continued Ben Johnson interest

Saints had a reported interest in West Ham United defender Ben Johnson during the summer transfer window.

Unconfirmed reports in Football Insider have revived that interest with the 23 year old out of contract in the summer.

They detail interest in the versatile full-back from Leeds United, Sheffield United and Rangers, in addition to the St Mary's side.

Saints are unlikely to move for Johnson this month but could see him as a good value option to bolster the squad in the summer.

Clubs keeping tabs on Kyle Walker-Peters

Saints star Kyle Walker-Peters has been one of the best players in the Championship so far this season.

The 26 year old has played every minute for Martin but is out of contract next summer with a new deal not yet on the horizon.

GiveMeSport have been told Chelsea and West Ham both retain an interest in Walker-Peters, for whom Saints have not received any bids for this month.

The report details Saints placed a £20million price tag on him at the start of the season. It would take Saints a big offer to sanction an exit.
