FORMER Saints midfielder and Sky Sports pundit David Prutton believes his ex-club will have "too much power" for Bristol City on Tuesday.
Another positive result for Russell Martin's side will further boost their Championship promotion hopes.
Bristol City beat Middlesbrough 2-1 on Saturday to end a run of six league matches without a win.
The 42 year old was speaking on his Championship predictions podcast, where he predicted a 2-1 win for the visitors at Ashton Gate.
He said: "Bristol City turned up and got a brilliant win at Middlesbrough on Saturday to end what was a pretty poor run of form for them. It will give them confidence heading into this one.
"Southampton look so dangerous right now. Even after that early stumble against Huddersfield, they came back to take all three points and keep Leeds a little at bay behind them.
They should have too much power for the Robins. Away win.”
Prutton, who played for Saints between 2003 and 2007, believes promotion rivals Leicester City and Leeds United will win - but he does back Millwall to take a point off Ipswich Town.
