SAINTS held West Bromwich Albion to a goalless draw in the first leg of their playoff semi-final which left the tie finely poised.
Flynn Downes and Ross Stewart were denied by good stops by West Brom goalkeeper Alex Palmer, while Alex McCarthy kept out efforts from Grady Diangana.
But it was Russell Martin's side who will surely be the happier going into the crucial second leg.
Saints fans have been reacting to the game and whether it is a good result to take into the second leg at St Mary's on Friday.
Commenting on the Daily Echo match report, subscriber SmallbonesUnderpants wrote: "Martin got it spot on yet again. Clean sheet, back to St Mary's for a win to take us through."
Another subscriber SwishBish felt like Saints missed Adams, commenting: "Struggled a bit today. Mara was poor. Missed Adams. WBA have a few tricky wingers and think they targeted Manning."
Taking to X, @JHart_1993 praised Saints goalkeeper McCarthy: "Bazunu in goal, we lose that. Superb performance from McCarthy. Got to be happy with that in my opinion."
@atterz_ was not quite as pleased, writing: "Poor. Lazy. Careless. Boring. Very few chances created."
Macca was huge that game. Two teams set up quite well. No injuries other than possibly che. Stewart is looking sharper as well.

Usual mix of good and bad, but 0-0 away in 1st leg is fine, especially without Che. We must be strong favourites to go through now - but still a lot of work to do.

On Facebook, Tracey Jane said: "Shame we didn't win. We are gonna have to pull out all the stops next Friday that's for sure."
Jeremy Riordan hopes Saints change the style of play going forward, writing: "Solid performance but for the love of god stop playing tippy tappy inside our own box. Just hoof it upfield. We will get caught out eventually."
