HAMPSHIRE Cricket's all-rounder Ian Holland has joined Leicestershire on loan until the end of the season.

The 33 year old has played two County Championship matches so far in 2024, taking three wickets.

Speaking on the move, Holland said: "I’m very excited to come to Leicestershire.

"The opportunity to play with a young and upcoming squad appealed to me and I’m looking forward to adding value as a player and as a person."

Hampshire director of cricket, Giles White added: “This loan gives Ian a valuable opportunity to play while he has not currently been getting as much playing time in our starting XI.

"We wish him the best of luck during his time at Leicestershire.”

Since making his debut in 2017, Holland has made a total of 111 appearances across all three formats for Hampshire.

The American international impressed during Hampshire's run to 2023's One-Day Cup final.

He took 18 wickets throughout the competition before losing out to Leicestershire at Trent Bridge in the final.

He played under Leicestershire head coach Alfonso Thomas at Hampshire, and alongside teammates Scott Currie, Tom Scriven, and Matt Salisbury during his time in Southampton.
