A Southampton mother who mistakenly received a ticket for the Championship final between Saints and Leeds on Sunday is desperately trying to reunite the owner with his ticket.

Ema Barker, 33, from Shirley said that she was shocked to open her post and find a ticket to Sunday’s match at Wembley and didn’t want an unlucky Saints fan to miss out.

The ticket she received had her address but was meant for Jason Neale. She is now appealing for Mr Neale to get in touch with the Echo so he can be reunited with his ticket.

She said: “I am definitely not Jason Neale but I would really like to reunite this ticket with its rightful owner.

“If I'm honest, I'm not a great football supporter, however I am aware of Southampton residents' love for the club.

“I work at the working men’s club in Swaythling and so many of the gents there have told me how excited they are to go and watch Saints at Wembley.

“It's going to be such a massive day out and I thought he would be so gutted if he missed out."

Speaking directly to Mr Neale, Ema added: “Please come and collect your ticket, have a great day and I hope Southampton come out on top.”

Around 36,000 Southampton fans are expected to take to the streets of London on Sunday to watch the sold out Southampton vs Leeds play-off final, with the winner securing promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

Mr Neale should get in touch with the Echo by emailing the Echo's newsdesk at newsdesk@dailyecho.co.uk, or by messaging on Facebook.

He will also need to be able to prove his identity.
