SAINTS will compete in the Premier League again after they won promotion with a 1-0 win over Leeds United at Wembley.

The St Mary's side have spent 24 years in the Premier League since its formation in 1992 and will add to that from next season.

Following relegation at the end of the 2022/23 campaign, it took Saints just one attempt to go back up through the playoffs.

For the players and staff, it means an extra week of holiday due to the different starting dates in the EFL and Premier League.

Summer transfer window opens - June 14, 2024

Premier League fixture release day - June 18, 2024 (9am)

Saints pre-season expected to start - July 7, 2024

Premier League opening day - August 17, 2024

Summer transfer window closes - August 30, 2024 (11pm)

Winter transfer window opens - January 1, 2025 

Winter transfer window closes - February 3, 2025 (11pm) 

Premier League season ends - May 25, 2025 

Next season's Premier League will consist of 33 weekends, four midweek rounds of matches and one bank holiday matchweek.

The league have also made arrangements to allow more rest time over three of the festive match rounds.

No club will play within 60 hours of another match, and no game is to be played on Christmas Eve as was seen this season.
