AFC Totton have announced Marcus Daws as their first signing ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

The 20 year old attacker joins from Dorchester Town having previously turned out for Southampton, AFC Bournemouth and Luton Town's academy sides.

The one-time Northern Ireland under-21 international started at Southampton's academy before switching to Cherries under-18s in 2020.

During his time at Bournemouth, Daws spent time on loan at Poole Town, where he won the Dorset Senior Cup.

Having been released by Bournemouth in 2023, he joined Luton, but soon left to join Dorchester, linking back up with former Poole Town boss Tom Killick.

Totton boss Jimmy Ball said: “Marcus is a very exciting young talent in the local area, who already has two season’s worth of experience in the league with Poole Town and Dorchester.

"He played a lot of football in the Poole Town team that reached the playoffs in 2022/23, so he understands this league.

“I know that other clubs were interested in him, as well. He has a tremendous attitude and a desire to better himself, and I believe we can help him find his way back into the professional game."
