SAINTS await FIFA's confirmation of Kamaldeen Sulemana's loan transfer as Ajax admit submitting documents last minute on deadline day.

Ajax technical director Alex Kroes admitted he does not know whether Kamaldeen's proposed season-long loan has officially been completed.

Kamaldeen, 22, was set to join the Dutch Eredivisie giants temporarily until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent.

The summer transfer window in the Netherlands shut on Monday evening but the clubs have still not been informed whether the transfer was done.

Kroes, told that fans want to know the answer, said: "Well, so do I. Right now there is a letter at FIFA where we ask for a definitive answer in the short term.

"We fixed the paperwork for Sulemana and uploaded everything into the system just before the deadline. But now a discussion has popped up whether we did it before or after the deadline.

"There are players without a club right now with lots of talent and quality who don't have a contract," Kroes added.

"We are looking to find someone to spend our money on in case Kamaldeen Sulemana doesn't arrive. But if we don't find the right player, we keep our money.

"I am not satisfied with our transfer window. I did my best but don't think the financial and sportive balance has been achieved.

"There has been a lot of commotion about us having to sign a creative midfielder. Look we already have options and all of them are creative in their own way."

Kamaldeen is not in Saints manager Russell Martin's plans, with the boss unable to register his entire squad in the Premier League this season.

Saints had also hoped to loan out Sam Edozie, 21, but his move to Rangers fell through in the final hour of the UK summer transfer deadline day.
