SAINTS icon Rickie Lambert has hit back at Gary Neville over his comments regarding the planned Independent Football Regulator.
Neville urged football fans not to believe "scaremongering" and "misinformation" in order to "apply soft power in the right places."
A number of outlets have reported that England could be banned from Euro 2028 as a result of the government's involvement in the independent regulator.
UK Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy received a letter from Uefa general secretary Theodore Theodoridis which emphasised that “football regulation should be managed by the national federation”

Lambert responded to Neville's statement, saying: "It’s becoming clear exactly who and what you are Gary Neville.
"Instead of using the footballing community to come together and stop what is being implemented onto us, you are using your position to try and persuade them to accept the corrupt, cowardly shadow government plan to destroy our way of life and society."
The pair continued their disagreement with Neville responding: "You ok Rickie?", accompanied by two laughing emojis.
Lambert than replied: "I’m good Gary, you seen what your mates doing to this country? Why would you let them anywhere near our game?"
