MIDFIELDER Caspar Jander claimed he is "here to win" in his first Saints interview after joining the club from German side FC Nuremberg.
Jander, 22, insisted he hates the feeling of losing, and plans to give his all and help Saints achieve their goal of winning promotion back to the Premier League.
The highly rated German youth international adds midfield depth to Will Still's squad, following the sale of Mateus Fernandes to West Ham.
Jander admitted he was immediately attracted to the south coast when he heard of the interest, and did not stop smiling when speaking for the first time as a Saints player.
“I feel really amazing. When I found out that Southampton wanted me, I was so interested in going here," Jander explained.

“I am really happy to be here. It’s been really busy but really nice. Everything went so fast. “I’m really looking forward to playing at the stadium.
“I’m a player who gives everything on the pitch and gives everything with the ball, but I also like to play against the ball. I can do both, offensive and defensive. I just like to win.”
He added: “English football, the English leagues, are the best in the world. It’s so fast, so physical, it’s the greatest football because it’s always attacking.
“Southampton is such a big club with so much tradition. So many big players here. They want to build a new environment with a lot of young players.
“The plan is to go back to the Premier League. I hate losing; I love winning games. I’m here to win as many games as possible and hopefully get promoted to the Premier League."
Jander is the third German-born player to join Saints this summer, following Damion Downs and Joshua Quarshie.
The midfielder already knows Quarshie from their time together in Schalke's youth system, although both got their breaks at other clubs.
Jander played against both in the 2. Bundesliga last season, but saw mixed results against his new teammates.
“I like to remember the game against Joshua because it’s a big derby in Germany. I think we won 3-0," he smiled when recalling Nuremberg's win over Greuther Furth
“Against Damion, I don’t like to think about it too much because we lost two times. I only know Damion from playing against each other.
"I’ve known Joshua for a long time because we also played together in Schalke - he was a year younger than me."
