SAINTS under-21s' Premier League International Cup clash with RB Leipzig has been postponed this evening due to poor conditions.

The scheduled 7pm kick-off at Eastleigh's Silverlake Stadium has been called off due to persistent rain.

The surface at the Silverlake was deemed unplayable after a pitch inspection following heavy rainfall in the area.

It means Southampton's meeting with the German side, which was set to be the under-21s final game of the year, will now take place on another day

A statement published by Saints added: "Details for the rescheduled fixture in 2026 will be confirmed in due course."

The postponement comes after flood alerts have been issued across the county today as the heavy downpour causes river levels to rise.

Adam Lallana's side sit seventh out of eight teams in their Premier League International Cup group following one draw and one defeat after two games.

Saints held Real Madrid to a dramatic 1-1 draw at St Mary's before suffering a 2-0 defeat to AS Monaco at the Silerlake Stadium earlier this month.

In addition to their rearranged fixture against RB Leipzig, Saints must also face Dutch side PSV Eindhoven on Thursday, 22 January.
